Founded in 2005 by writer/director Daniel McNicoll and producer Erica Black Galatia Films was established to produce McNicoll’s first film Reclaiming the Blade featuring Lord of the Rings stars Viggo Mortensen, Karl Urban and John Rhys Davies in addition to Star Wars sword legend Bob Anderson and other Hollywood sword martial artist and design experts. The film was a number 1 documentary on iTunes in 2009 and has sold very well at Best Buy, Hastings, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster and Amazon.com. Daniel McNicoll is currently directing a new documentary on the Keysi Fighting Method as seen in Batman Begins and Dark Knight starring Christian Bale and Liam Neeson. McNicoll along with writer/director David Mickey Evans (Radio Flyer, Sandlot) have created a new project titled GLASTONBURY: ISLE OF LIGHT. Those involved on the project include producer Ned Dowd (Last of the Mohicans, Count of Monte Cristo, Reign of Fire); Skywalker Sound’s Kent Sparling (Twighlight, Star Wars, Titanic); conceptual designer John Howe (Lord of the Rings, Narnia); Weta Digital director Richard Taylor (X-Men, King Kong) among many others.

Galatia Films Entertainment, official launched January 2010, is now the digital sale rep for the Victory Multimedia catalog of films to iTunes, Netfilx, Ingram and Baker&Taylor (this is David Solomon and Randy Freeman’s company out of LA). Victory is the #1 aggregator for both physical and digital to Netflix, 100 new labels and 30 new companies a month. Our catalogs include many titles with major awards and a-list talent, including Billy Bob Thornton, Steve Buscemi, Kristen Bell, Orlando Bloom, Jude Law, Viggo Mortensen, Carrie Preston, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton and many others. An established director, Evans wrote and co-directed the classic film Radio Flier for Columbia Pictures staring Elijah Wood and Adam Baldwin. The following year he went on to write and direct The Sandlot. Cherished by audiences and critics alike, Sandlot was produced by 20th Century Fox staring Dennis Leary and James Earl Jones. Recently David directed The Final Season for Yari Film Group staring Sean Astin, Larry Miller, Rachael Leigh Cook, and Michael Angarano. A director with a keen eye and vision, Evans’ catalog includes films for Universal, Sony, and Disney.

Regarding Glastonbury’s subject matter and original screenplay, David states, "I am very impressed with Daniel’s script, It seems impossible that no one has made this story before." Glastonbury screenwriter and producer, Daniel McNicoll, was a part of the long search for the right director. "In the end this was a very easy decision," states Daniel, "and I think David is a wonderful artist."

Evans joins a experienced group of production talent including Lord of the Rings illustrator John Howe and Weta Workshop director Richard Taylor. During the months ahead David will work closely with Galatia Films as they consider casting for the film. Glastonbury explores the legendary journey of Joseph of Arimathea as he escapes peril in Jerusalem. Upon his arrival in Britain, which is on the edge of war with Rome, he implores the help of the warrior-prince Caractacus in an effort to defend their sacred customs and ancient ways.
